Traveling Freely

This book was written by authors who, during childhood, were not allowed by their parents to travel beyond the confines of their neighborhood. Jim and John grew up together and were always the best of friends. However, we always had a curiosity of what existed beyond our small world. We even built a raft together (at ten years old) with the hopes of traveling the Pennypack Park Creek and seeing the world (The Great Raft, story from our first book: Nobody Never Told Us Nothin’!) The boat sank but when we look back on our lives we realize that we came a long way from our early beginnings.

Traveling Freely is a visual account of our travels through the world exploring the different customs and practices of people that make up the planet. Our travels, at times, made us realize how lucky we were to live in the USA. For example, when traveling through India we took pictures of Indian women doing their wash in a water fountain, located near the Ganges River. This is the same water supply where thousands of people bathed and drank. There are hardships in the world but there is also a lot of beauty. In Ireland, we took pictures of the Rose Moss Bridge – a section of land covered by red moss. What a beautiful sight and a wonder of nature.

Our book features several amazing photographs on nature, for example, a Chimp feeding a baby tiger; in Africa two Sea Otters holding hands to resist drifting apart. Jim Kennedy is shown holding a baby elephant in Africa and protecting it from harm.

Traveling Freely is an excellent description of the book since the authors record situations and events spontaneously without preparation, nothing is staged.

The book is arranged alphabetically covering most of the countries of the world including: Australia, The Bahamas, Belgium, Bermuda (including the Bermuda Triangle area), Brazil, Canada, Chile, Egypt, England, France, Holland, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Ireland, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam and many more beautiful countries.

Traveling Freely represents the free spirit of the authors in their travels throughout the world and reflect the love they have for people and the natural world around them.
