Angling Freely Through The States expresses the idea that there is no place as beautiful as the United States of America. The land of the free and the brave. James Kennedy and John Homan grew up in Pennsylvania and our memories date back to the 1950’s era. For many of us, our fondest memories are remembered in our hometown and of a particular place-possibly an old fishing hole where you caught your first fish or a hangout, in the area, where you meet your first girlfriend. All of these early years in our lives were reflected in our first book: Nobody Never Told Me Nothing’!
As we grew older and more mature, we ventured out to New Jersey and the surrounding area. Our main interest at that time was fishing and this led us to explore the bays and ocean areas of the beautiful state of New Jersey. Once, while fishing in Margate, New Jersey, we became stranded on the rocks out on the beach front but finally made it back safely to shore, thanks to the vigilance of Jim’s mom. We soon realized that exploring the world can be risky, but is a necessary learning experience in the natural order of things.
From New Jersey, we explored, in time, a total of over 40 states including Alabama to Wyoming. Taking pictures along the way, we documented our travels finding adventure and excitement at every turn in the this excitement with us-the different foods that we ate and the different people that we meet. The authors discovered that the world is a book and if you don’t travel it is like only reading one page not the whole thing.
Mark Twain (Samuel Clements) once said: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines.Sail away from the safe harbor.”
